HOWLAND STONE STORE MUSEUM

Corner of Sherwood Rd. & Rte. 34B.

This cobblestone store was built in 1837 by Slocum Howland, who was a devoted Quaker, entrepreneur and human rights advocate.His daughter, Miss Emily, was avidly involved in abolition, women’s rights, temperance, and education.
